Elizabeth Butler, Countess of Chesterfield, was eldest daughter of James, Duke of Ormond, and second wife to Philip Stanhope, second Earl of Chesterfield. She died in 1665.

Lent by Mr. James Ward. Dr. Storer was born 1747, and died 1837. He took a leading part in forming the Nottingham General Hospital, of which institution he was appointed consulting physician extraordinary for life. He was the first President of Bromley House Library, Nottingham. 1816-1819.

Chaworth, Esq., of Annesley Hall, Notts. Born 1786.
Married John Musters, Esq., of Colwick Hall, Notts.,
August, 1805. Died February, 1832.

Rev. Gilbert Wakefield, born February 22nd, 1756. Was Curate
in Church of England. He left the Ministry of that Church
to become a classical teacher in a Dissenting Academy at
Warrington. Celebrated as a political and theological

writer. Died 1801.

207 Charles Manners-Sutton. Born 1759. Archbishop of Canterbury, from 1805 to 1828. He married in 1778, Mary, daughter of Thomas Thoroton, of Screveton, Notts.

Lord Byron, Poet. Born in London, January 22nd, 1788. He
lived for some time at Newstead Abbey, Notts., which is
famed as being Byron's ancestral estate; here he composed
several important works. He died at Missolonghi, on April
19th, 1824, and his remains were laid in the family vault at
Hucknall Torkard Church, Notts., on July 16th, 1824.
