Copies of any ORDERS of HIS MAJESTY IN COUNCIL, made under the Authority of two Acts, paffed in the 42d and 43d years of His Majesty's Reign, for allowing FOREIGN SUGAR and RUM to be Imported into the Ifland of Tortola.

The KING's Moft Excellent MAJESTY in Council.

WHEREAS by an Act, paffed in the last Seffion of Parliament, intituled,

"An Act for enabling His Majefty to permit the Importation and Exporta"tion of certain Goods and Commodities into and from the Port of Road Har"bour, in the Ifland of Tortola, until the 1ft Day of July 1803, and from thence "until fix Weeks after the commencement of the then next Seffion of Parlia"ment,”—It is declared to be expedient that certain Articles, Goods, and Commodities, enumerated in certain Acts, paffed in the 27th, 32d, and 33d years of His Majefty's Reign, fhould be permitted by His Majefty, by and with the Advice of His Privy Council, to be imported from Countries and Plantations in America and the West Indies, belonging to or under the dominion of any Foreign European Sovereign or State, into the Port of Road Harbour in the Ifland of Tortola, one of the Virgin Islands, and to be exported from thence to this Kingdom, in the fame manner, and fubject to the fame Duties, Rules, Regulations, Conditions, and Restrictions, and to the fame Penalties and Forfeitures for the breach thereof, as are provided with respect to the Port of Naffau, in the Ifland of New Providence, one of the Bahama Islands, in the said Acts, or in any other Act or Acts of Parliament for amending or continuing the fame, and fubject to fuch other Rules, Regulations, Conditions, and Restrictions as fhall be directed by His Majefty, by and with the Advice aforefaid; and it is Enacted, That from and after the patling of the faid A&t, and until the 1ft day of July 1803, and from thence until fix Weeks after the commencement of the then next Seffion of Parliament, it fhall and may be lawful for His Majefty, by and with the Advice of His Privy Council, to permit the Importation into the faid Port of Road Harbour, in the Island of Tortola, one of the Virgin Islands, and the Exportation from thence to this Kingdom of all fuch Articles, Goods, and Commodities, as are permitted by the faid Acts to be imported into the faid Port of Naffau, in the Island of New Providence, one of the Bahama Islands, and to be exported from thence to this Kingdom; and that fuch Articles, Goods, and Commodities fhall and may be Imported and Exported in the fame manner, and fhall be fubject to the fame Duties, and entitled to the fame Drawback, and fhall be fubject to the fame Rules, Regulations, Conditions, and Restrictions, and to the fame Penalties and Forfeitures for the breach thereof, as are provided in the said Acts, or any of them, respecting fuch Importation into the said Port of Naffau, in the Island of New Providence, and the Exportation from thence to this Kingdom, and fhall be fubject to fuch other Rules, Regulations, Conditions, and Restrictions, as fhall from time to time be directed by His Majefty, by and with 37.

the Advice aforefaid; His Majefty is thereupon pleafed, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to permit, and doth by this His Order in Council, permit, during the time limited by the faid Act, the Importation into the faid Port of Road Harbour, in the Island of Tortola, one of the Virgin Islands, from Countries and Plantations in America and the Weft Indies, belonging to or under the dominion of any Foreign European Sovereign or State, of all fuch Articles, Goods, and Commodities enumerated in the faid above-recited Acts, paffed in the 27th, 32d, and 33d years of His Majefty's Reign, as are permitted by the faid Acts to be imported into the faid Port of Naffau, in the Ifland of New Providence, one of the Bahama Islands; and alfo the Exportation thereof from the faid Port of Road Harbour, in the Ifland of Tortola aforefaid, in the fame nianner, and fubject to the fame Duties, Rules, Regulations, Conditions, and Restrictions, and to the fame Penalties and Forfeitures for the breach thereof, as are provided in the said Acts, or any of them, refpecting fuch Importation into the faid Port of Naffau, in the Inland of New Providence, and the Exportation from thence to this Kingdom; and fubject alfo to the Conditions, Rules, and Regulations hereinafter mentioned; that is to fay, That before any Sugar or Coffee, the produce of Tortola and its Dependencies, fhall be permitted, or fuffered to be shipped or laden on board any Ship or Veffel, each and every Package fhall be stamped or marked by the proper Officer of the Customs, in Roman Letters of not less than two inches in length, with the words BRITISH PN.

That all Sugar and Coffee, not being the produce of any of the British Plantations, Iflands, or Territories, fhall, upon Importation into Road Harbour, be laid on land and examined, and fhall be depofited in safe and secure Warehouses, under the joint locks of His Majefty and the Owner and Proprietor of fuch Sugar and Coffee, and the fame fhall not afterwards be thipped or laden on board any Ship cr Veffel, unless directly from fuch Warehoufes (upon due Entry thereof being firit made) under the care and infpection of the proper Officer of the Cuftoms; and before any fuch Sugar or Coffee fhall be permitted or fuffered to be shipped or laden on board any Ship or Veffel, each and every Package fhall be ftamped or marked by the proper Officer of the Cuftoms, in Roman Letters of not lefs than two inches in length, with the word FOREIGN, and thall alfo be numbered progreffively. And the Right honourable the Lords Commiffioners of His Majefty's Treasury, and the Lords Commiffioners of the Admiralty, are to give the neceffary Directions herein, as to them may refpectively appertain.
