After remaining in the possession of the Meyl. Family for upwards qf eighty years, the publication the Guide passed to the present Propridor of TI Herald. Up to this time the original text - revised a re-revised, of course, times without number - had st served as the basis of every edition, so that it will readily believed that both in style and ideas it was 01 fashioned and worn out. It was, therefore, ddermin to rewrite and remodel the Guide, and this duty 11 performed by a gentleman on the stay' of Th e Hera possessing the requisite acquaintance with the City a its Institutions and knowledge of the worhs of Warn Scarth, Earle, Mainwaring, Britton and other inv gators of local history and archeology. Charles Moe Esq. E G. S., lent his aid in describing the geology Bath, and, with the hind co-operation of the ot. Gentlemen applied to for information on special poi: this old friend with a new face was produced in best style of modern typography. That the labours of t. Editor were successful is proved by the fact that a T his Edition is required within as many years.
