Yorkshire Parish Register Society.

REPORT FOR 1902.

THE Council of the Yorkshire Parish Register Society beg to present their Fourth Annual Report. They are pleased to say that the Society is still receiving a fair amount of support, and that the number of members for 1902, notwithstanding a considerable loss from deaths, was 258.

The Registers of Hampsthwaite, Wath-on-Dearne, and Brantingham have been issued to the members for that year. The Registers of Cherry Burton, Hartshead, Linton (Part II), and Marske-in-Cleveland are in the press, and will be issued to the members for 1903.

It is intended that the Registers of Howden (Part I), Pickhill near Thirsk, and Bolton-by-Bolland shall be issued for 1904. The Registers of Allerton Mauleverer, Askham Richard, Cowthorpe, Crofton, Emley, Farnham, Gargrave, Giggleswick, Hackness, Otley, Rothwell, Saxton, Sowerby near Thirsk, Terrington, Thornhill, &c., either have been copied or are being copied. The want of funds alone prevents their being forthwith printed, and offers of donations for that purpose will be gratefully received.

In order that the Council may make better headway with the Registers of so large a county as Yorkshire, it is very desirable that the membership should be largely and constantly increased, and it is suggested that every member can assist the Council in that respect, by persuading at the least one of his friends to join.

Sir Thomas Brooke, Bart., the Rev. N. J. Miller, and Messrs. John Charlesworth and J. W. Clay retire from the Council by rotation, and they and the officers of the Society are eligible for re-election.
