The Council of the Lancashire and Cheshire Antiquarian Society desire it to be known that the Authors alone are responsible for any statements or opinions contained in their contributions to the Transactions of the Society.
The Editor has pleasure in acknowledging the great assistance he has received from Mr. Richard Gill in the preparation of the General Index which is printed at the end of the present volume.

August 27.-Sandbach, Brereton Hall, and Holmes Chapel.
October 1.-Knowsley Hall.
Meetings for the Reading of Papers, Discussions, and Exhibition of Antiquities were held monthly during the Winter Session in the Chetham College, Manchester, and a special meeting, with lecture, was held at the Manchester Town Hall, on January 10th, 1893.
The Annual Conversazione was held at the Concert Hall, on November 30th, 1892.
