THE OFFICIAL RETURNS OF THE 28TH OF MAY, 1821, TAKEN BY
ORDER OF PARLIAMENT.

The first column contains the Folio where each Place is to be found in this Volume;
the other three columns relate to the Population : first, the return of 1821 ; second, the wtal
numbers in each Parish according to that return; and third, the returns of 1811, from which
the Increase or Decrease during the last 10 years may be ascertained.

All the Towns, Villages, and Hamlets in the East and North Ridings and Ainsty will
be found alphabetically arranged in their proper places, though only such as are Parishes or
Townships are inserted in this Index.
